I am reading Mark Batterson's book "In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day." I already have it on my favorite books list and I just finished chapter 2! I this chapter Mark writes about praying ridiculous prayers...prayers that stretch our faith...prayers that make us feel foolish for even asking for so much, but I say...WHY NOT ASK?!?! Jesus says that if we ask and have the right motives he will come through...here is one of my ridiculous prayers...I have been praying this for the past 4 years..."God may we see as many people come to you as there are stars in the heavens." That is mine...every time I let my dog out and I see the stars, I pray that...I want to see God move in a way like he did in the first chapters of Acts and WHY NOT!!!! Do it...let's pray ridiculous prayers...

Be still...
I was reading in Psalm 46 yesterday and thinking about it this morning...do you know how hard it can be to "be still..." before God when life is just racing around you. You've probably been there...TV, books, internet, movies, family, kids...MAN...it can be hard. I was encouraged this morning just to stop my mind from racing and focus on the GREAT things that God has done for me. TRY IT! Stop yourself and think about cool things in your life...think about people that mean a lot to you and how improved your life...Celebrate those things and then turn to God and thank him for them! Sure helped my focus...
Anyone seen the movie Micheal Clayton...not very fast moving, but I think that was the point...the intensity kept my attention. My wife will tell you that I actually stayed awake during the movie and that is RARE! I listened to some of the directors commentary (I'm a special features nut!). That is a guy that did not give up on his idea...took him, I think, 6 years to get the movie done...kept hitting some roadblocks, but persistence pays off...plus he pursued George Clooney and finally got him to say yes...cool story of sticking with an idea and seeing it through...

The Snow"man"
Day One...
Day one in the blogging world for me and this is fun...have to say that the process of getting started was WAY easier than I imagined! I've been dragging my feet on getting started for months! Looking forward to sharing my thoughts with all of you and seeing what comes of this!
What an exciting time for me to start this, since we are exploring at Grace (our church) the theme of Raising the Bar...it is going to be exciting to see how God raises the bar in my life this year...WHAT A JOURNEY!
Speaking of the journey...I heard a GREAT QUOTE this week...the essence of it was that we have to learn to enjoy the journey of of lives...there will be many twists and turns...many victories and failures, BUT we must learn to enjoy the steps of our journey...I hope that this blog will leave of trail of just that...nuggets of enjoying the journey...
I'm out for now...wrapping up things at the office and heading home to build a snowman with the kids!
